1. Information We Collect
- Direct contact information — if you email us a tip, correction, or message, we receive whatever name, email address, and details you choose to provide, used only to respond and verify what you've told us.
- Server log files — standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, ISP, timestamps, referring pages), used only for server reliability, security, and traffic trends.
2. Cookies & Web Storage
The Facts Desk sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Two third-party services load to render the page: Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to serve typefaces, and, where enabled, Google Translate.
Advertising status: The "Advertisement" blocks visible in the site template are currently placeholder slots and are not connected to any ad network. No advertising cookies are set at this time. This page will be updated before any ad network goes live.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
If and when active, Google may use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Opt out via Google Ads Settings or AboutAds.info.
4. Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
- GDPR (EEA users): request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data you've submitted, by emailing privacy@thefactsdesk.com.
- CCPA (California users): request to know what's collected or request deletion; we do not sell personal information.
5. Children's Privacy
Not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has submitted personal details, contact us and we'll remove them.
